Anche in un'epoca come la nostra in cui lo scambio delle informazioni in rete ha reso infinitamente più accessibile in tempo reale tutto quello che viene prodotto in campo scientifico, e ha portato a stratto contatto i ricercatori di tutte le parti del mondo, l'importanza delle riunioni scientifiche come luogo deputato alla diffusione e allo scambio delle idee può difficilmente essere messa in dubbio. Questo è dovuto prima di tutto al fatto che il contatto personale e anche informale a cui gli incontri reali danno luogo, è un fattore non sottovalutabile nella nascita di collaborazioni fruttuose. Nel caso poi di giovani studiosi, il fatto di dover presentare le proprie idee a un uditorio sconosciuto e di dover sostenere un dibattito nel quale si dovrà esser pronti sia a difendere le proprie posizioni, sia ad assimilare nuove proposte, rappresenta un valore formativo difficilmente sostituibile per chi si prepara a una carriera scientifica in cui la presentazione chiara delle proprie idee, la serratezza della argomentazione e l'apertura al nuovo sono componenti imprescindibili.
Per questo, quando due studenti del Programma di Dottorato che dirigo, Márton Horváth e Eszter Koós, mi hanno esposto il loro progetto di organizzare un congresso per i dottorandi che lavorano nel campo della linguistica e delle letterature romanze, è con gioia che ho dato il mio appoggio all'iniziativa. Il congresso RODOSZ (Romanisztikai Doktorandusz Konferencia), patrocinato dal Programma di Romanistica della Scuola di Dottorato in Scienze Linguistiche dell'Università Eötvös Loránd e dalla Sezione di Romanistica della scuola di Dottorato in Scienze Linguistiche e Letterarie dell'Università Cattolica Pázmány Péter, ha avuto luogo il 24 settembre 2009 nel campus di Piliscsaba dell'Università Pázmány, con la partecipazione di 24 dottorandi provenienti da sei diverse università ungheresi. I lavori si sono svolti in otto sezioni (raggruppate in due macro-sezioni parallele) con i seguenti titoli: Linguistica teorica, Linguistica del testo, Linguistica descrittiva, Letteratura dei secoli XIV–XVII, Letteratura dei secoli XVII–XVIII, Letteratura del XX secolo, Teatro e opera, La seconda guerra mondiale nella storia e nella letteratura. Il successo del congresso ha incoraggiato gli organizzatori a ripetere l'impresa, per cui nel settembre del 2010 si è tenuta la seconda edizione di questa importante iniziativa, che sembra destinata a istituzionalizzarsi con scadenza annuale: un segno che essa risponde a un'esigenza profonda e sentita dei nosti studenti di dottorato.
La generosa disponibilità della rivista Verbum ci permette ora di pubblicare gli atti di questo congresso. Ci sono pervenuti dodici contributi, che vengono qui pubblicati dopo essere stati sottoposti a dei referee. Speriamo che in questa forma questi studi possano raggiungere un pubblico ancora più vasto.
Desidero ringraziare la Sezione di Romanistica della scuola di Dottorato in Scienze Linguistiche e Letterarie dell'Università Cattolica Pázmány Péter e in particolare la prof. Éva Mártonyi per l'essenziale contributo dato nell'organizzazione del congresso, la redazione della rivista Verbum, e in particolare la redattrice responsabile Anikó Ádám per aver voluto ospitare questi contributi, i colleghi che hanno funto da referee (Edit Bors, György Domokos, Diego Dotto, Zsuzsanna Fábián, Imre Majorossy, Éva Martonyi, Andrea Nagy, Enkratisz Révész, Ildikó Szijj), e infine e soprattutto Eszter e Márton, che hanno dato tutto il loro entusiasmo e il loro impegno perché questa impressa riuscisse — e ci sono riusciti.

- Espaces de sacralité profanée: pour une mythographie des villes en Europe au siècle XXI (Budapest, Lisboa, Baden-Baden)

- L’écriture des ruines au XVIIIe siècle: vestiges et vertige

If the interest in ruin is ancient, the aesthetics - or rather the poetics - of ruins, in the strictest of senses, was born in the 18th century in France. In accordance to this, we consider whether it is plausible to analyse the writing of ruins as more than a discourse of clichés. As an architectural object and a literary subject, the ruin in particular suggests the associations that are part of the register of clichés. The pictorial ruin differs from the ruin in nature (architectural ruin) which serves as model for it as well. The pictorial ruin is the object of description and meditation: the ruin in the literary text, on which we will focus. In this article, we will concentrate on its status as an aesthetic object in the Age of Enlightenment.
- Il "castrum Lucullanum": da "oppidum" a cittadella commerciale (secoli X-XII)

It is famous because the last western Roman emperor ("Romulus Augustulus") was in exile there in 476. Inside the fortress, there were churches, monasteries, houses and empty lands. It survived until 902, when it was destroyed by Naples' citizens (as a result of the the Muslim invasions). After this period, the "castrum" was not completely abandoned: a lot of sources from the 10th to the 12th centuries report that it was utilized as a storehouse for the nearby port of Naples. A lot of merchants from various cities (also from Pisa) were interested in buying a part of "castrum Lucullanum".
- Intrigues du pouvoir dans Les amours tragiques de Pyrame et Thisbé de Théophile de Viau

Inspired by Ovid, the play shows many similarities with Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, but seems to depict the presence of authority and despotism more sharply. In this context, the contrast between the treatment of the themes of power, generosity, liberty and care, is deep, lyrical and moving.
- Emploi de la critique génétique sur les variantes du poème A un jour de Simone Weil

Her few poems express her mystic experience; her longest poem, A un jour (To the sun) has an interesting genesis. It happens rarely in genetic research that we possess all the textual variants. This allows the author of the present paper to prepare the pre-text of the poem and to draw the resultant conclusions. In the process of analyzing the poem, we can observe some elements of the functioning of the verse technique influenced by Paul Valéry, the organizing role of rhyme and sounds, which have metaphysical bearing. The force that controls the imagination as a result of the fixed form is part of the transcendent technique. The biographical importance of the genetic analysis of Weil's poems lies in the fact that the mystical experience leads to determining form. This means the abandonment of philosophical discourse, poesy becomes the only possibility of expression.
- Dilatation du temps et de l'espace: approche énonciative de "ici" et "maintenant" dans Enfance de Nathalie Sarraute

Our purpose is to define the occurrences of some deictic adverbs and, further, to spell out their discursive specifics in autobiographical texts, especially in Sarraute's Enfance. Furthermore, we propose to place all these facts into an enunciative dimension and more precisely, in the perspective of the spatial and temporal deixis. This analysis is first concerned with drawing up the connections between the different values of the present tense, the complexity of personal pronouns and the occurrences of deictic adverbs, and, secondly, with examining the processes which produce the expansion of the enunciative space.
- De la crise du roman: la poétique romanesque de la N.R.F. sur les pages de Nyugat

A primary resource are the writings of Albert Gyergyai in the journal Nyugat, which had been an important publisher of French literature and culture since the 1920s. Through examining Gyergyai's publications and his book A mai francia regény (The modern French novel), as well as the Hungarian reception of Gide (in which Gyergyai's works cited played a partial contributing role), the present study examines the extent to which the French genre-dispute, intimately linked to the quesions of literary modernism, was related to the literary renaissance associated with Nyugat.
- Narration d'une double recherche dans Un long dimanche de fiançailles de Sébastien Japrisot

On the one hand, the writer had worked on it for the longest time (nearly four years), on the other hand, he put a lot of autobiographical elements in it. The salient feature of Japrisot's writing is held to be the subversion of narrative logic. This statement is true for A very long engagement, in spite of the fact that its structure is simpler than the those of the writer's other novels. This time Japrisot complicates the identity of the narrator as the heterodiegetic narrator is nobody else but the main character of the novel, Mathilde. It is she herself thar narrates - or more precisely - writes her own story in an unusual way: in the third person singular. Why does the writer cover up the real narrator Mathilde behind the mask of the heterodiegetic narrator? This is the question that this paper focuses on. This study is to honour the writer, who would be 90 years old this year.

We then put this conceptual approach to the test by trying to apply it to one of the most problematic areas in French language learning/teaching: articles and the conceptual distinctions they reveal.
- Le regroupement lexical - étude comparée de deux dictionnaires unilingues hongrois et français

Kéziszótár, a dictionary of Hungarian. As the Hungarian model, lacking in a coherent theoretical basis, seems inadequate, a new approach is being suggested with examples from the letter A/Á. The final part of the paper studies the effects of this new model on the macrostructure, especially as far as readability is concerned.
- "Agir en silence": la scène de genre de Chardin et de Greuze

They are closely related to the notion of silence, although, for a long time, theorists of painting have held that pictures tell a story, that of a great event. The Royal Academy of Painting and Sculpture established a hierarchy of genres in painting, according to which historical painting was the most highly esteemed while genre painting was at the bottom of the hierarchy. Historical themes are naturally eventful; paintings often want to educate the public, they intend to say something. However, genre painting is fundamentally different. Most often, it represents an everyday life scene in which the protagonist is silently absorbed in their activity. In this paper, we will try to answer the following question: if genre painting does not intend to instruct the spectator, what does it express then? We will examine the paintings of Chardin, comparing them with those of Greuze, based on the writings of art critics of the 18th century.
- Collaboration militaire française pendant la seconde guerre mondiale: des volontaires français dans la Waffen-SS 1943-1945

This military unit was a part of the German army as the 638th infantry regiment of the Wehrmacht. The legion was deployed on the front before Moscow as well as in the back area on the partisans from 1942 until 1944. In 1943, the German authorities started to recruit in France to establish a new French Waffen-SS unit. The volunteers got the instruction in the camp of Sennheim in Alsace and in Bohemia. The first contingence was deployed on the Red Army in Galicia. The mission was accomplished, but the losses were very high: 80 percent of the unit was killed, wounded or missing. Afterwards, the unit became a division with 7000 people, who fought in the combats of Pomerania and in the final battle of Berlin.
- Rappresentazione insolita dei grandi fondatori della città di Roma nella Genealogia deorum gentilium di Giovanni Boccaccio

On the one hand, its objective is to explore two chapters concerned with Aeneas and Romulus in Boccaccio's Genealogy, more closely, to address the issue of the two heroes' death. The author ends their lives in a surprisingly similar and undeserved way, to which there is no reference in other sources. On the other hand, examining those matters, the paper wishes to point out Boccaccio’s unusual humanistic approach to the subject of his work, i.e., to heathen mythology or to the sources he exploited. In the majority of cases he prefers the latter and at times Christian authors' opinion to those of the antique writers despite the fact that he is aware of a conciderable amount of ancient sources and attempts to use each of them in his works.
- I poeti del Certame Coronario presenti nella Raccolta Aragonese

We'll discuss the great poetic anthology, the Compilation of Aragon, put together by Lorenzo de'Medici and Poliziano in 1476. The merit of the anthology is its systematic summary of the vernacular poetry from the 13th century (Duecento) until the second half of the 15th century (Quattrocento). We provide an analysis of the selective criteria of Lorenzo and Poliziano, which reveals their concept of vernacular poetry and language.
- La servante moliéresque. Toinette du Malade imaginaire: servante sensée ou Scapin au féminin?

During his authorship, Molière employed many different methods which can be recognized in the role of Toinette, however, inseparably. Even if her role is composed of the elements of several types, these components constitute a perfect totality.
- Mémoires et mémorialistes du XVIIIe siècle en France: essai sur les mémoires du valet Cléry et de Madame Campan

Firstly reserved to the upper high society, memoirs were written foremost as a kind of "must" by aristocratic people and then after as testimony, a will to leave a trace in history. Many memoirs were composed during and shortly after the French revolution. Their authenticity is often difficult to investigate - among them the Journal of Cléry, valet of Louis XVI and the Mémoires of Madame Campan, first lady in waiting to the Queen. These written treasures are extraordinary testimonies of the French Royal family and their ultimate hours.
- Fragment et fantastique au XIXe siècle: à la recherche de l'absolu

Romantic thinking rebelled against the conventions of the time, rejected the earlier models, placed problems into a new light, and renewed the concept of aesthetics fundamentally. The ideal of Romanticism finds its form in the fragment that symbolizes the fragmentedness of the work - of any work, in opposition to the values of Classicism, which was to strive for perfection. The fragment, as a rediscovered form of self expression and as an aesthetic dimension different from the previous ones in the past, naturally had an effect on Fantastic Literature. This paper outlines the form and content of these influences.
- La linea Pirandello–Shaw in base alla critica

Shaw, 20th-century drama, Walter Starkie, Eric Bentley Absztrakt In this paper, I discuss the possible parallels suggested by various critics between the dramatic art of Luigi Pirandello and that of G. B. Shaw. Only few critics, such as Walter Starkie and Eric Bentley, dealt with this question thoroughly. Starkie states that there are not many similarities between the works of the two artists. In order to support this statement, he studied the main characteristics of the Pirandellian and the Shavian plays, observed the stage directions, and the heroes and heroines represented in the dramas. After this, I study Bentley's views on the intellectualism of Pirandello and Shaw, and how they react to the question of illusion and reality as an everyday experience. The summary of the Pirandello-Shaw criticism provides a basis for my further studies of these arguments.
- La circulación del tiempo en la obra literaria

However, after a certain degree of literary evolution, people begin to view time as linear and their own lives as inevitably finite. Art is, however, the place where this lineal time-stream dissolves, shows different structures and intermixes. But why are authors not satisfied with the concept of a lineal time-stream, and why do they find the concept of a looped timeline so alluring? And how can one convey the never-ending circle of time in the closed, stand alone world of a literary work, and what techniques can allow him to achieve the unachievable: to contain infinity in something finite? This study examines how Paz's mystical cyclical view of time acts in numerous novels of Julio Cortázar.
- L'enfant face à la nature

Such authors as Saint-Exupéry, Le Clézio, Henri Bosco, etc. depict their little heroes as being in contact with nature and inseparable from it. This bond, totally unintelligible to adults, stems both from the unusual philosophy that lies behind the child-hero behaviour and its ability to personify the world that surrounds it. The World in turn looks after the child carefully.
- Sintassi latina e sintassi volgare nello specchio del sistema glossatorio medievale

We will discuss the system of glosses in the text of the translation, which, due to their spontaneity, presumably reflects the linguistic environment in which the translator lived and worked. This translating method was particularly popular in the Middle Ages; however, it is still difficult to find the direct source of the glosses: this obscurity makes the linguistic analysis of the text and glosses indispensable. Our hypothesis is that the text of glosses - originating from a Neo-Latin linguistic system - reflects a later stage of the language, while the translation from Latin into Italian contains grammatical traits which are related to a Latin syntactic model.
- Tendenze della formazione delle parole nell'italiano contemporaneo: la composizione

The goal is to delineate the most employed compositive patterns in the enrichment of the vocabulary of Italian. After a brief introduction, we will examine a productive compositive pattern of native compounding: N+N, V+N, A+A and N+A. Then, we will describe the two mostly employed patterns of non-native compounding: neoclassical compounding and what is known as "hybrid compounding". We will present examples from a corpus created from the dictionary of Italian neologisms (Adamo & Della Valle 2003). This choice is motivated by the idea that although neologisms are sometimes ephemeral, they can provide an insight of word-formation tendencies in Italian.
- Questions multiples en français: une analyse lexicale-fonctionnelle

We will argue that in French, there are three basic types of multiple questions, which contain subclasses, according to the particular register. We show that one type is better analyzed as the coordination of two single questions. The puzzle concerning French multiple questions is the ambiguity between two possible interpretations of the same pair-list question: the syntax gives no clue about the D-linkedness of the question words, which is crucial in the interpretation, determines and thematizes the congruent answer to the question. We propose to solve the problem via the dissociation of syntactic and discourse information in the LFG framework (functional vs. information structure), in a way that two different information structures can belong to the same syntactic structure. The gist of the analysis is to suppose that D-linked question words correspond to topics, and non-Dlinked ones to foci in the information structure, which gives rise to the different readings in semantics.

The main subject of this paper is the evolution of the infinitive in Italian and Greek as well as the influence of the disappearance of the Greek infinitive on the Southern Italian dialects.

Having provided a short summary of the treatment of certainement in contemporary grammars, in the first – theoretical – part I will argue that the development of adverbs is a part of grammaticalisation processes. Based on the examples of Frantext, I will show that certainement was present in 16th-century French both as an adverb of manner and as a sentential adverbial.

One of the main characteristics of Spanish spoken in Mexico is its vocabulary, much of which originates from Nahuatl. The first Nahuatl words appeared in Spanish when the first conquerors arrived in the New World and tried to denominate plants, animals and other typical objects of the area. In the 16–17th centuries some words of this type were used in Spanish and Mexican literature. In the first half of the 20th century the influence of Native American languages on Spanish was overestimated and it was only in 1960s that it was rectified by Lope Blanch, who made a survey on words of Native American languages in Mexico City. The survey concludes that only 0.07 % of the vocabulary is of Nahuatl origin. Taking this survey as a starting point, in 2006 I also made a survey with a remarkably different conclusion.

Manzoni's novels. We will reveal the regularity in the changing frequency of ci/vi locatives in the texts. The shift in the distribution of clitics among the three major functions of locatives is investigated as the possible reason for the prevalent use of the locative ci. We also demonstrate that although the spread of ci is a general phenomenon, it influences the functions to a different degree. In order to provide a better understanding of the background of these changes, three playwrights from the 14/15th centuries are introduced. Their works were among the readings of Manzoni, thus they could have an effect on his language model and also on the spread of ci.
