|Abstract||The present paper presents elements which are characteristic of both spoken and written language, included in the anonymous work Aucassin et Nicolette. The text constitutes the only example of chantefable, a literary genre from the 13th century. Chantefable is a written text; however, it evidently includes some features of the oral tradition.|
